One engineer.
The reach of
a team.
I own the technology operation of a multi-channel retailer. The data platform, headless Shopify commerce, integrations across Shopify, POS, ERP, and marketing automation, customer-facing apps, and internal operations tools. I build AI agent systems with human approval gates so one engineer can run what would normally take a team.
Before this, Fortune 500 consulting at IBM and a marketing data warehouse at WP Engine.
What I own, end to end
Every box below is a production system with real users and real money moving through it.
BigQuery warehouse, 500+ dbt models, Dagster orchestration, 30 source systems.
Event-driven ingestion and rewards engines on Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and Pub/Sub.
The company's BI layer, serving Retail, Franchise, and Finance on streaming APIs.
In-house loyalty, referrals, and an evergreen rewards program on shared coupon rails.
Headless Shopify Plus run end to end on Hydrogen and Oxygen, plus dozens of Astro landing pages that sell straight into the Shopify cart.
Shopify, NewStore POS, and NetSuite kept in agreement on products, pricing, inventory, and the order lifecycle, plus Klaviyo and Google Merchant Center.
Selected work
Each of these is a production system I own and operate.
225 declared sources
The data backbone for a multi-channel retailer, run by one person.
500+ dbt models over 225 declared sources, Dagster orchestration on 22 schedules, and event-driven ingestion from 30 source systems. Intraday revenue used to wait for the next day's ERP sync. It now lands on a 10-minute loop.
across web and 37 stores
A headless storefront and 37 stores, kept in agreement with the ERP on every order.
A headless Shopify Plus storefront on Hydrogen and dozens of Astro landing pages selling into one cart. Integrations keep Shopify, the POS, and the ERP in agreement on products, pricing, inventory, and orders, and an hourly reconciliation alerts when they drift.
+ vendor contract retired
Took loyalty away from a SaaS vendor without a customer losing a point.
150k+ members earning in real time at the register. Coupons minted automatically on a sub-30-minute loop from BigQuery balances. The warehouse, not an application, is the authority on what a customer is owed, so every balance is auditable back to source.
with no manual steps
An evergreen rewards program that runs itself off hardware in the store.
1.2M+ device scans ingested and 54k+ enrollments. A scan opens a 28-day window, a second scan closes it, and the reward is computed and texted to the customer in seconds. Nobody approves anything.
seats retired
Replaced Power BI as the company's BI layer and retired hundreds of seats.
Live Sales on a 10-minute loop, Sales Journal with a store-activity heatmap, Inventory Movement, and Franchise KPIs with projected Daily Need. Backed by streaming API endpoints on a dbt, Dagster, and Postgres stack.
Experience
Enterprise analytics consulting, then data engineering, then owning a multi-channel retailer's technology operation.
Defyned Brands
2021 – PresentPrincipal Engineer (formerly Data Lead, Data Engineer)
Own the data platform, the headless Shopify storefront, the Shopify, NewStore, and NetSuite integrations, customer-facing apps, and internal ops tools. Built the 500+ model data platform on BigQuery, dbt, and Dagster; an in-house loyalty platform that serves 150k+ members and removed six figures of points liability; a year-round in-store body-composition challenge with 54k+ enrollments, 1.2M+ scans, 51k+ lbs of verified improvement, and $137k+ in store credit issued automatically; and the internal BI and operations app that replaced Power BI and retired hundreds of licensed seats. AI agent systems with configurable review gates, each held by a person or delegated to an agent, let one engineer run what would normally take a team.
WP Engine
2018 – 2021Sr. Data Engineer, Data Analyst
Built and managed a marketing data warehouse, enabling full-funnel attribution from paid media to conversions. Owned web analytics pipelines and A/B test design across all WP Engine web properties.

Stack
What the systems above are actually built on.
Side projects
Built outside work hours, shipped and running.
PickCrunch
Create groups with your friends and pick NFL, NCAAFB, NBA, NCAABB, MLB and NHL games. Pick spreads and totals in matchup, ranked, or flat pick modes.
LINEGUESSR
Guess the closing line on legacy NFL games. Pick an era, set the spread on ten games, and buy hints like starting QBs or the final score, each one costing points. A daily set gives everyone the same ten games to play and share.
Draidock
A protocol for running several coding agents in parallel under human approval gates. A Navigator charts the work, crew agents build in isolated worktrees, a Mate merges each leg, and a Surveyor checks the result. Accepting what ships stays with a human. This site is built with it.
